Budget Audio thread

So in my sisters G35 the bose speakers are not loud enough...

So while I am home I think an upgrade might be doable. I have a 7" ED sub(i know many of you don't approve) that is left over from me swapping in some ole skool Pioneers in the Max. So I would use the 7" sub in the rear deck with a 6x9 to 7" MDF adapter.
So that takes care of the sub.

But now I need some front speakers. What are some decently cheap components? Nothing special, it can even be from a local store for all I care. I have Diamond comps in my car so they don't even have to be as good/bad as those

Rear door speakers will just be some decent coaxials. Not much care about these.

Now I need a amp, I know this is important so if I want to afford a decent one, I will most likely buy a used one. I am thinking a 5 channel amp so I can power the "sub" as well.

My goals are to have a better sounding system then stock and to push out more than the stock 150w.

The head unit is a Pioneer Z2/Z3. I believe it only has 2.5v preamps but that is what I have to work with. I will run 14guage stinger speaker wires and 4 or 8 gauge power wire.

So all suggestions will be helpful. Keep in mind I will want to do this cheap as possible

scrap the rear door speakers and that will cut your number of speakers and amplification channels (cost) down.

some components that have a decent reputation while being affordable are pg rsd, blaupunkt velocity, pioneer prs, or check with don to see if he's running any specials (probably get something nicer at a good price).

there are plenty of decent budget 4 channels although nothing is popping into my head at the moment.

True but I figured I can get some like 40 dollar pioneers that will sound decent. But I will keep that in mind in case I run across a good cheap 4channel amp.

Those are too expensive for this project. And plus those are better than what I have in my car so there is no need for the G to have a better audio system than mine

Nonsense ! Unless I just didnt list the more entry level ones. Hmm that could be the problem, but I can check. We do have a few other options as well and even have some decent amps on the very cheap.

yeah don... you didn't list the cheaper speakers. i need at least an oa8 and am looking a 426 coaxial set as well. wouldn't mind an ra30 to round out a dls install but i doubt i'll have the money for it.

and a celestra ra220x.

and some mw182s.

ugh.

i think those will work for what you want, although some will disagree cause of their boner status. i bought a set of the 5.25" (ftl) but never used them. looked/felt like any other budget comp. sound is supposed to be one of the best in that price bracket (take that as you will).

The way I see it, as long as it sounds better than the 150w Bose system, it will be fine.

these are one of the most popular budget speakers on the web right now and a lot of ppl feel (as with every boner) they are undeserving.

it doesn't work. only leads to inevitably going over budget because you bought something you really didn't want the first time.

Perhaps I misread, but thought you said every boner was undeserving on it's status.

JBL's will sound much better than the pg' unless all you care about is midbass, then the rsd's might be up your alley. I would prefer a much more well rounded setup like the jbls.
