Fuse blowing, short somewhere?

Fuse blowing, short somewhere?
Hello all, and Merry Christmas!
I just had a quick question that I hope some of the guru's around here could help me with. I just came back from school and my car has been dormant for a good bit. When I turn it on though I immediately blow the fuse in my amp so I'm suspecting a short somewhere. Where should I look? Will the short be somewhere in the immediate wiring between the battery -> Fuse - > amp / grounding?
Thanks!

The fuse on the amp itself, I'm wondering if the amp isn't just spent. I went through and checked all the wiring and it seems to all be in good shape, the ground is still solid and all my connections are tight.
Is there a way to test whether the amp itself has shorted?

First, disconnect all your speaker leads. See if the amp fuse blows when you turn on the car. If it doesn't, one of your speaker wires is shorting out. Connect each one while the amp is on to determine which lead makes it blow.
If it still blows when no speakers are connected, remove the amp and power it up using short lengths of wire directly to the battery. If it shorts there, your amp is toast, you just eliminated all possible wiring as the culprit.
