Oh what have we here...

Just got this in the mail the other day. I still don't have an amp yet, hopefully I can pick one up this weekend.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12d VQ.

Specs, sourced from Wikispecs.
  • Interface Type: Terminal Binding Post
  • Overall Max Frequency Response: 400 Hz
  • General Features: Dual Voice-Coil,Rubber Surround,Vented Frame Design
  • Sensitivity: 92 dB
  • Peak Power Output: 1600 W
  • RMS Power Output: 400 W
  • Cone Style: Cone
  • Cone Material: Magnesium Alloy
  • Diameter: 12 in
  • Mounting Depth: 7 in
  • Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm(s)
  • Overall Min Frequency Response: 25 Hz
I plan on [temporarily] running an off the shelf ported box that's ~1.65 cu. ft, and powering it with an Alpine MRP-M500 amplifier.

Hopefully this will be good enough to replace the BOSE sub

Yeah I don't plan on pushing it that close at all.

It's a lot higher sensitivity than other subs I was looking at, such as the Alpine Type-R. So I shouldn't need that much power to get the kick I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Thanks guys

Me and some friends installed it on Friday. I haven't tuned the amp fully yet, but it pounds! Sounds great too.

Hopefully I can get a deck soon. I am currently running a line out converter, I'll be buying something with 4v preouts.
