anyone know of a headunit that can do this?

Ok peeps. I've been shopping around for a while and my system is going to be set up as the following:

Front components and 12" sub powered by 4 channel Rockford Fosgate Punch 450 x 4.
Rear coaxials powered by headunit amp.

So all I need now is an amplifier that has a crossover that will allow a highpass to the rear speaker line signals WITHOUT affecting any of the front/sub pre-amp outputs.

Anybody know what headunit will do this for me? It seems like all of the manufacturing specs are shady and not specific (believe it or not) enough for me to determine this.

Help. I have my speakers, amp and sub and just need the headunit to start my install.

You're making this more difficult that it needs to be. Run the rca's to the amp from your cd3200 sub outputs to the sub input on the amp, and front outputs to the front inputs on the amp. Then you can use the high pass filter on the HU for the front and rear speakers (there's NOTHING wrong with this) and run the sub controls to the sub.

Ok. Thanks dude. I was looking for verbage in the specs that made it clear that you can control speaker level and line level crossovers separately. I'm didn't know that was implied, though it would make sense, i wanted reassurance. Thanks again.

The sub will be independant of the front and rear, but front and rear will not, the pre-outs will also take on the same crossover as what is set on the speaker outputs.

so i guess it wont matter as long as the filter on the HU is as good as the AMP's. In my case I'm looking at 12dB/octave on both. I guess if the amp had a better crossover then i could be b!tching about this.

Pretty much, and the amp probably won't give you a spec on the slope of the crossover.

Look, you want the best possible sound with these speakers, then get an equalizer. I'm using a soundstream mqp-5x0 and it's one of the best money can buy. Also if you don't use an equalizer, what most people domn't realize is that the words of the song also comes through ur sub even when you hook up the amps directly to the hu

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16341

I get the best clear sound, and you can have the system set the exact way you want. I'm using it with a valor 700w dvd-tv, pyle pro speakers front and soundstream tweeters, and 8 inch o2 speakers in the back that is for mid range, and a quantom audio sub 12 inch in a ported box for bass. That thing pounds so hard my brake and clutch pedal has vibrations under certain songs, and my sub amp is turned down along with the sub volume on the eq lol. The amps i'm running are a crunch 900.4 for the interiors that come with a beautiful built in crossover, and a lanzar vibe 256 pushing out 1600 watts exact.. got it from amazon.com for about 80 bucks, the best 80 bucks ever spent on subs. I already blew two lightning audio subs at my local audio place with this amp lol so you do the math.

Damn. I have my EQ set flat on my Dyns. I bet his valor/pyle/crunch/quantum pwn me.

But the 8's in my doors vibrate the clutch and brake pedal, even with the subs turned off, so I bet I get some uber-noob style points there.

A really good system doesn't need an equalizer. I guess you might if your using flea market items. The OP was looking for assistance with system configuration not really a whole line of line cheapest product recommendations.
You might want to tighten up your brake and clutch pedals while you're at it.

The math is simple, you don't know how to set your amp, and you blew subs. Anyone who knows how to properly setup a system should never have a blown driver. There's no math to be done here, user error.
