Click my homepage.

As for FG...frame, fleece and glass, it's that simple.

I was going to post a pic of the frame of my box installed. But the image doesn't show anything that you would recognize as an installed enclosure. I guess I just took that one as a digital memory of the clearance on left and right side edges. If I get a chance I take some more pics because I am planning on doing some more work in that area this week anyway. In the meantime the photo blow is a test fit for the basket clearance of the three twelves. The baffle is unfinished and uncovered in the pic.

That looks tight but will be as loud as 3 12's in a sealed box in the trunk?

It's not intended to get the benefit of the wave bouncing off the rear trunk wall coupling with the initial wave from the driver. It's intended for SQ, so that the transient response will be nearly in line with the kick panel mounted mids and door mounted midbasses. They are sealed. Sealed for maximum bass extension and smooth response. If I only had one 8 I would be concerned about volume. But I have three 12's so volume shan't be a problem. Also when you mount subs in the trunk the sound has to pass through the rear seat. My seat back has several layers of damping material and a layer of fyberglass w/epoxy resin. So the loss from travelling through all this material would nullify the gain of having them trunk mounted.

That's sweet I am thinking of two 10w3's for my civic or 10w1's to save weight. I never thought of mounting them in the rear deck only in a box but done wright it would look fat! Wher are you going to mount your rear fill? Thanks.

I've got DA 8.6 HEX cones for the rear doors. As you can see I am currently do some more work on the doors. The lower halves are carbon/kevlar twill using blue kevlar. These HEX drivers do a great job of covering from 60 Hz to 2000 Hz and don't pull the sound stage to the rear.

Here's the sub box fram outside the car. The black is carbon fiber that has been laminated to the inside of the frame. You can also see a couple aluminum braces and a heavy oak brace at the bottom. The curve at the top perfectly matches the curvature of the rear window. There are a couple of attachments to this portion of the box that add over 7 liters to each of the two outer boxes.

That is sweet are you going to glass the upper part that is inside the cab? Did you just cut the reardeck with a saw and use the padding as a template? I love the idea. I was into racing alot but talking here makes me want to enter the car audio realm. One more question are you going to seal the box or leave it free air?. Thanks.

There wouldn't be a box if it were free air. And of course it's sealed because the only better alignment is aperiodic and that's still debatable. I firmly believe that a good sealed box can sound as good or better than an aperiodic. This enclosure should be able to send the point home. Yes, the portion below the rear window will be glassed, but I haven't decided for sure on the pattern. Probably carbon but maybe charcoal grey to match the stock interior

Iasca is the sq part and in that yes the mid and high amp counts...I think you mean the db part of iasca which is IDBL...and in that no power counts just cone area. DB Drag is Usacs spl part.

Hey Jmax, you setup looks good, i have a question about what you did with the trunk braces underneath the rear deck, did you cut them, and put shocks to raise the trunk, or just leave it with nothing for now? Thanks

They bend and pop loose. Right now i've got nothing but will install either a linear actuator or gas strut.

Consumer 151-300 is wattage for usac...the sound quality part not the spl part. Consumer is for those that have competed as a novice (rookie year) and have not won a championship.

Here the trunk, I am currently running 16 speaker total, with 4 Rockford Fosgate amps, The 4 10" Alpine subs are mounted in an air tight enclosure with a 1" thick glass front (for the view) with neon running around the inside. Everything is Alpine except the head unit which is Kenwood.
