Can somebody suggest an amp that puts out 150 x 2 and 400 (or more) x 1 watts rms ? I'd like to power my front components and sub with one amp. Even better would be a digital amp. Any ideas?

 

Do most people use 2 amps when powering front comps and a sub?

 

Not all, but most. However this Can be easily done. What is your budget though?

 

I would like to keep it under 400 for the amp. I have an alpine MRD501 (500 watts) powering the sub right now. I was thinking I'll get a pdx 2.150 and call it a day but my sub amp has been acting strange. When the temp. is below freezing it will sometimes turn on REAL loud.

 

Are single amp solutions as good as multi amp setups as far as sq? Besides the economics and ergonomics are there any of benefits? Will running a single amp setup increase chance of adding noise or anything into system?
