95 audio catastrophe!

ok so i got a new HU today. finally got it all set up and it is working. im going little by little to fix all the issues in my car. for as long as i can remember the rear speakers havent worked. no biggie i thought they were blown. well i hook up the new speakers i have and i get static out the ***. the volume doesnt change the static noise or anything.

after a while of searched im here posting this. the bose speakers dont work and neither do the new ones. i tried 4 different ones and they all do the same. the front speakers (the old bose that will be replaced soon) work great with the new HU.

anyone have any ideas?

edit: after a quick test, the rear drivers side works with the aftermarket speaker. however its the rear passenger side that just spits out static when plugged in.

yes it is... yes it is.

but sadly my front two speakers are blown. i have 4 61/2s from my civic laying around and spring break this week with no work till friday. so im trying to fix her up this week. one big thing that needs work is the audio and im tired of listening to talk radio and the voices making the speakers rattle. heh

so here i am

that static is probably because of a malfunctiong bose amplifier. are you wiring the speakers in before or after the factory amps? if your answer is after then try before.

ok.. so i think your right on that. i found a little more info on this and this seems to be the logical answer to me also. because i have only tried it after the amp.

HOWEVER, if the aftermarket speaker works after the amp on the drivers side, why would the passenger side be down? i think this is the part thats confusing me.

because only one of the amps is bad.

good amp = good sound
bad amp = bad sound

"IMO" saved your statment. it may be good enough (it was for me at one time) but in actuality it is far from good.

ok so now only the passenger front speaker works. the driver front DID work but now it is EXTREMELY quiet. in order to hear it at all i need to turn it all the way to the left in order to barely hear it.

pfffft

I just joined today. I have 1999 Max SE. Factory System in car. I had "professional" install adapter to system so he could install amp and subwoofers. Only one sub works after professional installation. He blamed amp. So I replaced amp with another brand new amp, Once again only Right sub works, "professional" said to bridge Left sub wires with Right sub wires. I was upset b/c its a patch work job, I could have done it myself, I paid $300 for installtion and I had to accept supar job. Then today I cleaned my battery posts because Ihad trouble starting car, and I added water to my battery beause it was empty. Then I drove 1/2 a mile and then neither sub was working. Came back, playes with some things, the LMP/HMP switch was in OFF postion, I switched to LMP poistuion and only had Right sub plugged in, got it to work but its reall weak. No fuses are blown, its like one thing after the other. I thought this would be a Plug & Play situation. This makes no sense.

sounds like they left the amps in assuming that you have a bose system. if you ahve the bose system and they did leave the amps in it could very easily fry your new stuff. i would find out exactly what i did and if they didnt wire around the amps tell them to buy you new stuff.
