Factory vol/tune not working?

So our '01 non-bose volume **** no longer works at all and has been very sketchy for a while now. But now the steering wheel controls feel as though they only work when they want to.

Anyone else having this issue, searched and really only saw the first couple pages of recent posts and nothing related to audio.

Any help appreciated!

I'm also interested in fixing this issue. Occasionally my volume **** doesn't work unless I apply downward pressure while turning. And the steering wheel controls seem to only work sporadically, and actually not at all when its cold out.

Steering wheel controls went out on my 01 too. I just replaced it and it was like new.
Here's the replacement with the part number. The 02-03 is obviously different, I haven't had to replace that one yet.

Agreed on the cold thing-def does not work at all when cold.
I was able to get the vol **** working a bit this wkend while it was like 60deg outside. I've pulled apart the face but it appears there is some re-soldering to be done.
Not sure when itll get done as the wife doesnt let me touch her car too much
