Debating on doubling the sub setup

So i have one arc flatline right now and was wondering if it would get significantly louder if i have another without changing the amp set up. It would be 1000rms at 2ohms and the subs are rated for 1000rms each. And also how/would the sound quality be sacrificed if theres two subs instead of one? n00b questions from me...its been a while

Are you trying to get a nice clean hit or a car jarring boom? The box is honestly more important than anything. You can have all the subs, and power you want but if the box isn't right your not going to do anything. But if you add another sub of the same caliber usually you need another amp to run it or a amp strong enough that can run both of them efficiently.

are you ported right now? porting it would be the easiest/cheapest route if you're looking for more output. the sound quality should not be affected that much. you might lose a tiny bit of response but with a good sub like the flatline, it will sound good even when ported.

i remember i wired the sub to 4ohms so it was only 500rms and it sounded good still just a little lower in volume. Yeah the box would be a ported box ment for sql or even just a low volume sealed box. this setup is definantly ment for sql only.
