Avic D3 in 6th Gen. noobie question

Hey all

So, my friend just bought an Avic D3 for his 05' Non-Bose/Navi Maxima and needs a little help getting all the right parts. I don't know a thing about 6th gens so I was hoping someone could help me out here.

1) I hear he needs a new dash piece, and from what I can tell they only make a single din pocket you need to cut into a 2-din, is this correct? From Scosche or something?

2) Since he has no navi/bose, he'll need the metra harness for the install?

3) He bought it from an Ebay auction and all that was included was the D3 unit, power/speaker harness, A/V in/out harness but he wants full functionality so we'll still need to burn a Nav CD and buy a GPS Antenna, ya?

Thank you all for bearing with me

After we get this sorted out we'll right up a little tut covering all the bases so there are no more D3 questions around

1. I know for a fact Metra makes one. Best Kits makes one too. I don't believe it comes in a DD, so you'll likely have to cut/trim.
2. Standard wire harness. Doesn't have to be Metra. I didn't know the 6th gen came in non-Bose.
3. Yes/yes

Hope that covers it.

yep, just hack off the cd pocket in the metra kit and it'll make room for the DD sized unit.

I have the D3 in an 08, got all my parts, din kit, wiring harness, antenna adapter, steering wheel controls all from Sonic for about 100. I think Scoche was the brand and you do not need to hack off anything. Call them up and speak to them, thats what i did and they gave me all the correct parts
