wireing night mare inside

ok i have a 95 maxima GXE (i think) with the bose (i think) system. the headunit was missing when i got the car and i can see some non stock speackers in the front doors. i have not taken anything abart yet but i reached into the raido hole and pulled out a cut and hacked mess of wires about 1" in diamiter with the ends hacked off. now what im asking is would it be easier to track down and use the stock wires or to run new ones from the head unit to the speackers? i have a JVC head unit i will be using so its not stock. im not looking forward to redoing all this but i want a raido.

WFT why would ANYONE hack into a stock wireing harness when you can buy the plugs for a few bucks and do it right!!!! this really ticks me off!!!!!

because the radio was probably stolen from the car and the a$$ clown thief jut cut the wires and is making you the new owner deal with it. it might be easier to try and find the pieces at a junk yard and make it nice and clean, it will save you in the long run. good luck

nah, I competent installer would be able to tell you which wire is what in a matter of minutes, with a test light and a pulse generator. Take it to a shop, they won't charge much or better yet if you know a buddy who's good with electronics call him..

There is also probably a diagram floating around this forum that tells you what wire is what.. hook up radio as stated by diagram, replace any fuses blown and you're done

im pretty good with electronics most of my friends call me when they need wireing done. i just have not messed with it any at all yet. i was just putting this out there to see what others have done is this situation. i have a raido to go in it i just need to get the dash kit and get it done. i guess i could just open stuff up and twist the wires together off the back of the speacker and find the ones i need.

this could be checked with a ohm meter on the ohm setting by twisting the wires together on the speacker end then "probing" them on the raido end and finding the set that gives me a reading. i just dont see why their is 20+ wires going into the raido its like each speacker has like 5 wires going to it.

Grammatical nightmare outside, wiring nightmare inside, FTW!

You can get a reverse wiring harness to wire into the mess of wires in there.

that harness would be great if i had the stock plugs in "the hole" but they have been cut off and spliced already. so i will have to trace down all the wires and make something work i guess.

REVERSE harness, not harness.
