Upgrading Stock Bose...Headunit or Better Amp?

Would it be possible to connect a multi-channel amp in place of the stock bose amp for more power and only replace the tweeters with the same impedance for an improved sound? If so, how? Or are the speakers powered by the headunit and amp is for the subwoofer? Trying to keep the stock look. Thank you.

You most definitely can. Instead of replacing just the tweeters, do a component set of speakers in the front, and regular full range speakers in the back. What speakers are the best? That is a highly subjective question, and greatly depends on the listener. When you can, always listen before you buy. Pay a visit to your local audio shop.

Alot of my customers come to me saying they want the best and are ready to drop $200+ on a pair of speakers. Alot of the time, they end up spending far less. In general for the average enthusiast, the difference from a $50 to a $100 is far greater than the difference from a $100-$200 pair of speakers. Most will find that the difference is not worth the extra $$

upgrade

I am in the same boat right now with my 04 Max and I plan on 6.5 components in the front doors, 6.5 2ways in the back doors, 2 12" comps (sealed box), ZX750.5(4ch + 1 subch= 5ch amp), all Kicker with a MTX ReQ 5 from the Deck. I plan on bypassing the factory amp totally. I am not sure what will happen but will keep you updated. I am also removing the BOSE woofers in my back deck and may go with 2 way 6x9s if I can make my initial set-up work properly. I would like to get the mastersheets from Crutchfield but I am not purchasing from them though. Hopefully I will find them eventually without actually having to buy them. Hope this helps you even though I got on my soap box.
