GXE dash kit
GXE dash kit
Been thinking about swapping out my BOSE ('01) HU for my Blaupunkt Tampa Bay. Yes, it's a few years old, but was only used a few times in my truck before an older Kenwood took its place, besides, it's in PERFECT condition and has 2 sets of RCA's and an AUX input. My Blau is a single din and there would be a din void left. Now, can I use a factory din pocket to fill the void? I have 3 different kinds here in my basement to choose from. Would I use the factory metal brackets presently on the side of the OEM BOSE to make this all come together, or do I use the other install kit instead, the basic one with the single din opening with the tiny storage pocket below? I like the Infinity storage bin with the push and slide feature, but also the kind with the flip front door opening.
Ok,
You can get an OEM 4th gen pocket with the flip down door. It will mount to the metal brackets that were previously holding the Bose HU in. Then you can get the GXE kit to clean it all up.
OR, you can just get a Scosche or Metra kit with the tiny pocket.
Either way, the OEM brackets hold in the HU. Your choice.
