HU question

Hey guys. Just a quick question.. I just sold my 92'VE5 to a friend of mine, and hes having trouble making his ipod touch work with the HU. We are plugging it up through the headphone jack at the front, and on the other end of the wire, theres a converter to fit his ipod. Nothing happens when we plug it up. I was thinking it might have something to do with the AUX, so we were trying to access AUX 1 and 2 through the controls, and it won't allow us to do so, which I would easily do in the past. It just scrolls through tuner and compact disc. Weird Could there be something we have to do with the settings in the HU or ipod? The red arrow below shows where we are plugging it into. I really don't feel like pulling this thing out to run it directly into the AUX ports. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It won't work like that, you should just use a wire that has two male 3.5 ends and run it from the HU to the headphone output of the iPod.

So Im gonna have to pull that bad boy out, plug the red and white into the AUX ports at the back, and let the headphone wire just hang by his feet, eh?

Ok, so it seems he got it to work. He told me over text that he went over the owners manual, found out how to reset the AUX, and it works just great now through AUX 1, but he has it plugged in through the headphone jack

Anyway, thanks a bunch guys.

I find it weird that on the pioneer site it says, "iPodŽ Adapter Ready - with Full Control". To me, that implies that you can control the ipod with the stereo, but with just a 3.5mm cable it's not going to allow that.

Maybe there is a cable that allows full control somewhere out there.
