Need VSS color on harness, installing nav
Hi,
im going to be installing an eclipse nav in my moms 09 Altima. I have the scosche antenna and wiring harness but i need to get a diagram for the other wires ill need. Most importantly the VSS and also the steering wheel controls. If someone has the entire diagram for each wire description of the radio harness, that would be best. I know its an altima but i believe the wiring is the same in all the nissans 07+..
This car is non nav, non bose... thanks in advance!

Your best bet is going to be to download a factory service manual. I doubt the colors from the maxima will match the altima.
I looked in the FSM for my 07 maxima and the vss/parking brake/reverse wires are not in the diagrams for the standard non bose/navi. I know the parking brake and reverse wires are there because the NIRD-01 i used to retain the drivers information display plugs into the factory radio harness and has outputs for the parking and reverse signals. So i don't see why the VSS wouldn't be there as well. The FSM says that the wire color between the "unified meter and ac amp" and the "factory navi" is BROWN
The vss wire is not absolutely required in for the install. The vss wire is used by the nav receiver to calculate speed when the gps antenna loses signal, such as when you go in a tunnel. Some nav receivers such as my kenwood dnx9140 do not even have a vss wire and it shows the exact same speed on the nav screen as my speedometer.
