Subs in your Max

Anyone have a sick system in your car?

Well heres mine, Homemade box with a 12" kicker cvx and a 750.1 kicker amp.
Does not look pretty, but it pounds. Box is 2.5 cubic feet with 1" thick mdf and is tuned to 35 hz

I don't have a system yet, just a Dual head unit.

One your box, it really just needs some nice carpet to cover the MDF, otherwise, I think you've done a nice job on the construction.

My box barley fits, it touchs the bottom of the speakers. It does not rattle too much though. It could still be better. The key is though is to get the box as far in the trunk as possible. It gives the sub more room to vibrate everything else.

There are plenty of other brands that are a fraction of the price and twice the quality. Dynamat, you're just paying for the name.

NissanTun3r:
I found this thread on Google. Surprisingly, it was the third or fourth result down. Shows how much the org has contributed to car-related searches outside the Maxima.

As far as the rear deck, you don't necessarily need sound deadner to stop the rattle. A good piece of foam will do, and it's not so much the rear deck as it is the seat belt holders ON the rear deck. Housecor has a writeup on his site about how to stop the rattle.

You can do something like this and you wont have that problem. Costs all of $20.

Crappy system at the time. This was in 06. Car and system are both gone.

Nice systems, how much you guys pay for all that?

Later on I'm going to be getting a 12" fi audio sub. These subs are the best brand out there imo. Fi are the best musical subs.
My friend has a 15" fi btl in a huge 4 cubic foot box in a little volkswagen gti. That is the loudest sub I ever heard.

Kicker Comps. Amps and mids are nothing special. Eveything sound good to me. Not a big fan of big "thump". This system hits hard enough.

you don't want to face the subs towards the cabin, it is not as loud.

so true!! they sound much clearer with them speakers facing towards the back of the car. i even tried facing them up and no good. my new box will face one inward through the 'hole' where tou throw **** from the backseat to the trunk. and the other two on the sides.

I rock 1 10" infinity referance in a Ebay box with a dual amp that powers the woofer to perfect RMS spec and the thing hits pretty good. I had a guy who owns 2 12' type-x's comment on how well it hit. any who it cost me 180 for everything so im proud of it. I like my highs and i can tell sometimes when it just cant hit the lows but....im over it.
