best single 12" sub for the money...

i currently have one 12" JL audio sub in my trunk. I got it used, and i think after having it for a few months that its finally blown. I was wondering if i should just replace it with another JL or should i go with another brand. Im not looking to spend my entire wallet on one sub, but by the same token i want something of good quality. I have a sony760w 2ch amp pushing it. Any suggestions??? thanks in advance for any advice...

i have 2 kicker L7's and i love em....i dont know how much you mean by your whole wallet but if you have connects you should be able to get one for ~$250...only thing is, these subs require a lot of power to push em...i have sony6001, 1000w pushing i think 300 to each and its powerful, set off car alarms few times....once i come into some money, gonna try gettn some PPI 600w amps

Well im not looking to spend over $250-275.00 for any single sub. Anything more than that is out of the question. The reason i only have one 12" is because of the weight factor, and because im not trying to go deaf and rattle things loose. The JL i had sounded really good till I blew it. It was old tho, and i think something newer will last quite a bit longer. Thanks for the suggestions guys...

You can definitely get filling loosening bass in that price range. I have a single DA MD12 in my living room, um - testing, and it rattles every wall in my townhome. I mean if something isn't screwed to the floor, it's movin'. And I got it in that price range. Of course I do have 600 watts RMS of Adcom to power the sub. But I've never before heard this type of earth shaking bass from a box less than 1 cubic ft internal volume. A single JL W3 should move similar amounts of air.

Are you going to build another box or use the same one? If you use the same one then you will need a sub that requires the same air space. I had a 12" orion Cobalt in a wave box andd it hit 138.3 db with a mtx 4202 the only thing is the box was big. Anyway good luck

If you ask me get a shiva (ampmanaudio.com). Its a steal at 115 bucks shipped and they sound better than 2 infinity perfects. Sq and spl is excellent. I have them in my max, but they look plain though. I even get my roof to rattle.

Hmm, I have never heard that MB sub before, I noticed it offers a lower frequency 18-100 while the solobaric is 20-100 max power goes to the kicker at 750 watts, the MB is 700. Box space is a big factor to me, I want a set up simalar to the stealth box nad I know the solobaric takes up very little space. The Kicker weighs 15 lb's too which is a bonus for me, the MB weighs 20lb's. I am trying to keep the weight to a minimum so my car stay's nice and quick. Enough out of me, why do you like the MB better?

"the MB is 700" -

- Sorry, but I don't think you will find an MB that will take 700 watts. MB, like most European audiophile companies focus on sound quality rather than sound quantity.

I think it's prosiblly one of if not the best sub out right now. Sounds great, encombises some great new technology and makes it work. The downfall is the price for one 12" your talking 400 bucks but worth it. It may be the last sub you want to buy. It is real effective working with as little as 200 watts and can take up to 700 though thats it don't go past that. It's capable of getting pretty loud and still sounding good. In terms of low frequency resopnce you don't really hear 20hz as much as feel it, it's more of a low rumble. And in this case I woun't sweet it. It also works in almost any type of box config out there small to large all in a relitivly effective maner.

As for weight keeping the car speed down. If you wanted a fast light car why did you buy a maxima?

well if you can wait a month or two and have 369 dollars to spend get this. It will kill anything including jl audio w7, etc.
