Ok to use stock Bose wiring when replacing system? UPDATE: YES inside new FAQ w/ pics

Please excuse me if this has been answered before, But I did a search of the messages and the FAQ's but I still haven't found an answer to my question.

I have a Bose system in my '91 SE. I bought a new head unit and speakers all around: 6x9 rears, 6.5 fronts. Can I just install these parts and still use the stock bose wiring? I assume that I do not need the "bose harness adapter" because I will not be using the bose speaker amplifiers...right?

UPDATE. I have upgraded the system using the stock wiring. I did not need the expensive $60 Bose harness. I have also made a page regarding this issue since it seems like it is causing so much confusion. Click here:

So I still need the Bose interface harness even if I an not going to use any Bose parts anymore? I am taking out the Bose speakers/amplifiers and installing instead 4ohm speakers.

Nope you don't need one. You can use the factory bose wiring but you have to match up the wires because the bose wires has some funky coloring.
Go here to find the proper wire locations on the harness.
I have 2 3rd gens and I have aftermarket systems in both using the bose wiring. No problems at all.
BTW I don't believe the bose harness has a ground wire.
