Need some advice

Basically here is my deal. I have a small sealed box with a 10 that iam parting with. I'm going to build me a box for a single 12in sub. Iam leaning towards making it vented for some really low bass.

I need a sub that won't break the bank, iam on a $120 or less budget for the sub, but I would like something that sounds good in a vented box. Btw, I will be powering the sub with a 400x1 rms amp.

thanks

Theres several excellent subs you can buy, but if $120 is all you got you might wanna check the used for sale section in caraudio.com.

Personally, I wouldnt touch a used sub b/c you dont know the beating it took from the previous owner..

Quick question thou, why are you going from a single 10 to a single 12? Your talking slight gains unless you going from a very low end sub to higher end equipment.

Why dont you just build a ported box for the 10?

Fosgate is no longer the company they used to be but if you are going that direction I would say find HX2 series! Huge magnet, dual voice coils for maximum performance! I would say try to find it in Craigslist!

Alpine Type-R, Audiobahn, Polk Momo, Vega V-Max series are pretty good place to start....

If you can find them old school Orion HCCA subs are the sh*t!
