Actually it sound like the alternator is either fried or the connection has come loose. The battery must still have enough voltage to start the car but not enought to power any of the electrical devises. If nobody with a working alt believes this unplug the wiring harness and see how long your accessories still work. My headunit shuts off between 11 and 12 volts, so that still gives me enough battery time to pull off the road and get to a parking lot.
i dont think its the alternator...i guess i should have been more specific.....all the other electrical parts work fine.......inside and out....headlights taillights blinkers indiglo guages hazzards defrosters the ac/heat the only think out is the cd player the clock and power dorrlocks/wondows........so not everything electricla is fried thats why this is buggin me so much......

In that case it sounds like a relay but I don't now which one. There are several under the hood in plastic bins similar to the under hood fuse box. Opening the box may answer your question or spawn many new questions.

Sorry, I don't have a copy of the wireing diagram laying aroung anywhere. But, just because you hvae wires color matched, that doesn't mean that it is right. I think the harness is probably Metra, and your headunit is Pioneer. I would definitely recheck your wiring to make sure you have power and everything else going to the right place on the headunit. I know I have had two or three HU's that used at least one yellow for power or memory power - that's what supplies powers to the clock and presets.
