new double din installed with components question
new double din installed with components question
i just got a double din installed this weekend i also took the liberty of upgrading my internal mids and high and i got a component set for the front. i got a set of jl audios.after install i was happy to get my double din going. once i got in the car i tested it out and it was all working well but now my volume is cranked up to max and it is lower than my old factory bose set up. now since i only did the front and not the rear would that have an effect on volume? also i am running 2 12's kickers with a 800 watt amp and no amp for the mids and highs. any suggestions or comments? i need to know why the new set up is not as loud as my old factory one. thanks.
i don't think you should run them off of the bose amp.
i'm not sure of the impedance of bose amp, but it might run differently than what the JLs take
if you really want to enjoy those JLs though, get an amp on them, but for now, run them from your double din

i was going to get a amp for the mids and highs and a capacitor since i am also pushing 2 12's . but i fell into some cash flow problems so i guess i am right like this for a little while also i will get the component set for the rear.
You can run aftermarket components off the Bose amp. I replaced my front speakers in my 2K Maxima with Polk components and things have been fine for the last two years. You should go back over the wiring from your headunit to ensure nothing as come loose. Also if you have the resources, try another headunit to see if still have the same problem. I hope this helps.
no the sound is still low, i think i just went to a crappy place cus the headunit has a bass control but they said they could not get the base to work with it. i might have to bite the bullet and go elsewhere to see what the problem is, i just do not want to pay out the nose . sorry to grave dig. but i also remember the components i got they are the jl audio TR650-CSi since i am adding components to the back what kind of amp should i be looking to get? thank you in advance.
Yes, you can run aftermarket speakers on the bose amps. The problem with that is the bose amps are a 1 possibly a 2 ohm amp. If you run 4 ohm components on it you will lose sound. More resistance equals less volume. Correct me if I'm wrong gents.

Have you considered just using the power of the new radio to run the new components? Granted, I'm all for using amplifiers and such, but if you're looking for low cost options then using the deck power might be one. (Depending on how much power those new speakers need, etc) You'll most likely have to run new wires from the head unit to the speaker locations, which sucks, but it's the best way to do it.
If you want an amplifier because you'd like to improve the sound, there are a lot of great options. For small space requirements, check out the XD series from JL Audio. For sound quality, there are some great amplifiers from Arc Audio, JL, Zapco, Audison, etc. Plenty of choices to meet your needs!
