10 Inch sub in stock bose Hole

Do you think it would be possible to fit a 10in sub in the stock bose box in the rear deck any possible problems you can think that would come from that? i was thinking cut out enough space for the sub drill a sub box into kinda hanging in the air in the trunk since its kinda a free air. if any one else has done this or anything

Wont work, would need to cut some metal to make a large circle. And would have to under mount the sub to the rear deck.

Yes it's possible and can be mounted from the top, not bottom. This way no need to remove the trunk pressure rods.

10" Kicker Comp free-air in my 2003 Max SE...

and after I covered rear deck with black carpet...

I trimmed the 8" OEM hole to accomodate the 10" Kicker.

Just an FYI. I did not have the Bose, but as you can see, the opening is the same.

That looks really good. How does it sound with the sub right there inside the cabin?

how is the free air sub? good bass quailty? I rellay would rather have a enclosed but i was thinking that the trunk rods might get in the way

The quality is really good as should be expected from free-air, but it's in no way a SPL set-up. If your wanting big bass that can be heard 3 miles away and shake the dust off granny's boot as you drive by, it aint gonna happen.

Can you use any sub as a "Free Air" sub? I.E. Can I stick a Memphis Mojo in there and expect good results? Don't you need alot more power to the sub with this application?

For best results don't use just any sub, some subs are engineered to work better in an infinite baffle configuration. Do a google search for the subs

I was talking to Don, and he suggested the DLS OA8 or OA10.
