So I bought myself a Passport 8500 Radar detector. Along with that I purchased a "Mikes Mount" to mount it to my rear view mirror. It's nothing special, but I figured I would share...










Custom mounted the MUTE button into one of the spare spots I had in the dash.

 

Have you ever gotten a ticket or pulled over since installing this?

Because with cars of today..., I mean really, the speed limits of today are really suited for a scooter. Seriously. A scooter that can go up to 55mph.

Ive been thinking about doing the same with the mount. I use a suction cup mount on the windshield on the rx65 but the bass from the 13w7 makes it bounce off the windshield most of the time making an awful rattle.

 

Thats one of the reasons I went with the Mirror Mount. Plus, I dont like seeing suction cups on the windshield at all.

Nope, Its hardwired so there are no wires around.

Thanks. The nice thing is that mine is almost identical (wiring wise). I have it ran to the fuse panel and properly fused.

 

Mine is similiar to your set-up. Did this last week so I could regain my 12v socket for my phone.

Ahh thats right. I wanted the same switch but with a blue LED. I have switches with blue LED's but i have to mod them a bit. Wanted something just plug and play. Oh well. thanks!

 

Thats a cool setup, I have one similar to that, but my radar is long gone..Just have the wire just in case I get another one.

 

That's a pretty clean install.

 

I have one of those mounted in almost the exact same spot in my Maxima. It's the blue version though. To answer your question, I have never gotten a ticket since I put it in, and I usually go about 20-25 over. Speed limits here are ridiculously low. It's extremely sensitive and will alert me to units on the other side of a hill long before I crest it. Hope that helps. Worth every bit.
