Monitor problems.

Let me start by saying tht there was no better place for this thread then here, bc off topic is just for tom foolery. Anyways lets say this monitor is "in my car" now everythings on topic anyways its a regular 19" Viewsonic Vx910. About the top 1/4 of the screen works while the bottom blanks out. Im attaching a cell phone picture. If I smack the monitor it goes back to normal for a bit. Problem only seems to arise when it heats up a bit.

1. Its not the video card right? Since the problem is corrected when hitting the monitor?
2. Can it be repaired? as opposed to spending another 300 on a monitor?

Thanks in advance

Dude, that's an old monitor. 700:1 contrast ratio, 25ms response time???

Just get a new one. You can get 19's for anywhere from $180-$350 depending on quality, but even on the low end you're talking 20,000:1 contrast and 5ms response...

I like this one, it's the one I order for my office all the time. Great contrast ratio (8,000,000:1), telescoping stand, LED technology, 3 year warrantee, it's just a nice monitor.

Has a nice pricetag too at $300. 24's can be found much cheaper...around $200 is a good place to be and still some quality.

Might look into that one, does it tilt down? bc my table is actually a bit higher then where I sit so the screen has to be tilted down
