Help Me

Alright, I just took out my old rear speakers and they are definetly not 6x9s, which I thought they would be. I have an 89 Maxima GXE non-Bose. So, what are my options? I don't wanna send these back, so what all will I have to do to make them fit? Do I need the Bose mounting brackets? and where would I get these. Please help because I currently have the rear deck torn up.

i use to have a 91max. i out toghther the system in my 91 and 99 max.

ok all the bose speaker mounts do is mount to the bottom side of the trunk where the speaker holes are.

so just take the 6/9 speakers and mount them with a nut and bolt
to the under side of the speaker holes. those plate will cover the speakers anyways. drill some holes because you got to match up the holes on the speakers. put a bolt in from the top. 1-2in bolt tighten it with a nut in the trunk side and tighten. there you are mounted 6/9's.

either that or you can buy the mounts from a junk yard.
it dosen't really make a difference.

they will both work.

So my car is supposed to have 6x9s in the back? The rear speakers I took out were like 4 inches, and the holes in the back deck are small circles, not large ovals, so the whole speaker doesn't fit through.

Your car might not have been originally equipped with 6 x 9. First clue is that it is not a Bose system. Secondly, my crutchfield manual shows a different sized speaker for non-bose applications.
But it does not mention the size. To me it looks like a 6.5 inch,
but you said it looks more like a 4 inch one?

So should I send these back, or can I make them fit?

you bought 6 x 9 speakers? I'd say keep em and just drill some holes in the rear deck so that the speaker can be attached. It's ok if the hole is smaller

yeah I had gone ahead and bought them because I thought that that the back deck was supposed to be 6x9s. Anyways, I guess I'll just bottom mount them. Thank you all for your help.
