Amp cuts out and comes back on every 10 mins.

i paid 350 bux 3 months ago for this dcx500.1 precision power amp and its giving me problems now, we all went on a cruise 6 hours away and the amp started actin up after 2 hours of driving it sounded like the wires were touching but their not.

i took it back and guy said the amp may be bad since i was running a svc speaker and a dvc speaker on same amp.

so i put my twelves back in cause their the same now it takes longer but amp still turns off. it will jam for 10 mins then go off for 5 mins and come back on. when it goes off no lights are on at the amp and if i dissconnect car battery it will not reset amp.

just gotta wait for it to work on its own when it works it sounds damn good what could be wrong?

Nice amp by the way old PPi is some good ****..Its a 1 ohm stable amp so thats not the problem..1 ch mono block amp right...ok check your ground and the fuses...some one tell me what the ohm load is for a 1 4ohm svc and 1 4ohm dvc subs wired to a mono block amp? LOL like 6 or 12 ohms I have no idea and i would kind like to know even if i will never do that..

that's why you never mix and match different subs...

your two 12s svc 4 is fine. just wire them like this:

an amp doesn't usually go into protect mode unless its seeing low voltage, low impedance that's beyond its safe range, and overheating. in your case, i think its the jacked up ohm load when you decided to mix different subs together.

i dont think its going into protect mode because the protect light is not glowing neither is the power. all the wires are on good they professionally installed it and rechecked their work when they said i messed the amp up.

it ran the two different tens for a month no problems. the amp does seem like its getting hot. i put my twelves in and they beat a lot longer but still turns off but comes on a lot faster, with my tens it cuts the amp out in like 5 minutes and wont come on for like 30 more mins.

im lost i wanna look for another amp but i paid too much for this one and havent had it that long.

ok its not the amp. i put another amp in and it keeps going into protect mode out of nowhere. when i disconnect the rca cables the amps red light goes dim like its loosing power. i put a new ground and same problem. and when i run a direct power to the remote on the amp the amp fires up but hits the subs and lights dim in the amp like it doesnt have enough power.
