Massager kills Sat signal??
So got a $20 seat massager since we're driving straight to Florida next week and her subaru makes my back hurt. Plus I figure to stay awake...
We pick it up driving my max. works great for only $20 then I realize my oem Sirius isn't playing. No signal. As I drive, I play with the settings...
if 1 zone is vibrating, I get "Acquiring" so it's not playing.
if 2 zones are vibrating, I get "No Signal"
turn it off it plays instantly. tested several times.
If the thigh setting is on, it eventually starts "skipping" then eventually "Acquiring".
So somehow the vibration disrupts the signal?
Any ideas?
FM and CD worked fine. so no worries for the trip. But if I wanted to use this in my car on trips and use my Sat radio... no go.

Now that's some funny ****...I bet the $100 massager doesn't interfere...![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm assuming you're just hooking this up to a car lighter jack, right? Try all the power jacks, see if it makes a difference.
There's probably some extreme interference, not in the air, but through the wiring. Perhaps there's a ferrite choke you can get for a 12v current thin wire like you're dealing with. Not sure if they sell them at Radio Shack...never actually needed to add one before so I just don't know.

I guessed has to be some wiring/electrical thing. I'll try the floor jack, was using the arm rest one. I figured though the vibration was evident in the car, nothing compared to my 10" arc sub which is directly below the sirius unit and antenna on the rear deck.
I figure I would only use it in her car on long trips anyway but just messed up I bought it and messes with my audio setup.

Seriously, look for a ferrite choke (bead, block, nub, may go by one of many names)...if it doesn't work, at least you know...
Radio Shack does sell them, but I'd have to think this price of $5.99 is a rippoff. If it doesn't work, take it back.

Are they both plugged into the same source/circuit? If so try separating them.
Hardwire the Sirius if you can, or run a temp wire from the battery to see if isolating the two power sources helps.
