Problem installing aftermarket amp.
Problem installing aftermarket amp.
I tried looking for another thread with my same problem but had no luck finding one. If someone knows of one please reply with the link to help me out.
I have a MTX 500w amp and 2 Kicker CVRs that I am trying to wire into my 2003 Maxima. I have the main power coming from the battery to the amp. I have the ground grounded from the amp. Now, I went to best buy and got a transformer type thing with the RCA's on it to spice into the wires going into my stock bose amp. I wired FL+, FL-, FR+, FR- to the transformer. Also, off the transformer was a power line and ground which I hooked up with the amps power and ground. Now I plugged the RCAs off the transformer to the amp. The last lines I hooked in was the + and - going from the amp to the sub.
So now for the problem, neither the stock or aftermarket amps and subs are working. I know that I spiced the wires back together correctly because both the front speakers are working fine.
Also, I know this may sound stupid but for the remote wire, I have one coming off the transformer this is supposed to go to the amp correct?
Does anybody have any idea what I could have wrong?
The "transformer" is a Axxess Integration Device ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Axxess+-...&skuId=9856857 )
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what you can do is try this. take the white and grey from the axxess piece, tag them together. do the same with the white/stripe and grey/stripe. tag them to any rear speaker. you can mount and stash the hi/lo up in the trunk or in the door panel depending what year your car is, and where the rear speakers are located. anything else that comes from the hi/lo...leave alone they arent needed, they are most likely a ground lead that is not needed most of the time. remote you can tag from the acc wire from the radio, or the cig lighter. connect the rcas to the input in the amp. set the amp for lp and you should get bass.
I did what you said with tagging both positives and negatves together and i connected that to the positive and negative going from the stock amp to the stock sub...I cant connect the remote wire from the line out converter to the remote wire leading from the stock amp to the stock sub? I tried doing this and didnt get the amp to power up but i dont get why? Is the amp most likely fried?
