removing bose 97 max

hey all im stuck on this step in removing the bose from my 97, HELP!
broke n cant afford labor for install and removal so... attempting it myself and already broke clips off the ashtray assy. but whatever.... the following is what im having trouble with.

"******** Pull bottom of trim piece holding hazard / defog buttons and upper vents (pops out). The directions I read said to remove it completely
in order to Remove four screws (two top, two bottom) to release CC & radio assembly."

I cant seem to get the damn vents out/hazard-defrost-clock section up and out at all in order to remove the CC and head unit section. fml ive done nothing but nearly ruin the interior. and i was going based on a crappy tut i found online,

anyone know any videos or pics of this particular step? or of the whole process. clearly i suck and cant find any decent ones and worded instructions seem to not be working for me. lol. just cant figure out how to make the vents/clock area budge.

thanks

it hurts, but you gotta suck it up. the vents/climate controls are pretty snug inside of their housings. try to snap out the corners of the climate controls first, then the corners of the vents. work your screw driver/prying tool around where ever else is necessary
