Installing a Sub/amp in a Bose 5th gen, needing additional guidance.

After searching and building a game plan in my head. I wanted to get some feedback from others who have installed a sub.

Method: I plan to tap into the low line outputs from the factory bose setup

First question:

Should I tap in to the sub input leads? (see pic)

or should I tap into thee H/U?

Also, is the signal received sufficient to feed into a crossover?

I Currently have two amps and a sub.

Amps:
Coustic 241SE (240w rms)

and

Eclipse 3640 4/3/2 CH amp

60x4 rms or 105 x 2 @ 2 Ohms rms

Sub: Diamond Audio Cm308D2 (8" DVC @ 2OHM)

If I run no crossover I'll need to use the Eclipse amp bridged, as the built in crossover in the coustic no longer filters (full range only)
If I purchase a crossover I am considering using the 4 ch for a 4 pack and the coustic for the sub

Thanks for input

DC

Before I give my input, two questions:

1. Where is your current aftermarket amp tapped into?
2. Why do you not have an aftermarket head unit yet?

All stock currently,

I'm wanting to keep stock mids/highs for now and install the sub and maybe some 6x9's (the proposed 4pk option) custom fitted in rear deck. My sub will be in a seal enclosure .62 cuft build to spec.

Get a HU first. Seriously. It will make your existing Bose system sound a lot better, and for when you're ready for aftermarket, its already got the proper connections needed for aftermarket amps/speakers.

Don't get 6x9's. Don't cut your rear deck. Music is produced and reproduced in a circular fashion. (think drums, trombone, etc..all circular output). If you need more 'bump' from your 6.5's, then upgrade to 8's in the doors. It's doable.
