Wiring Question

Is it necessary to run the ground wire and rcas on seperate sides of the car? Or is it just like a precaution.

You don't need to run any ground wire the length of the car. What are you talking about, exactly?

I dont know exactly what I'm talking about. I've read some places that you are supposed to run the RCAs and some other wire on seperate sides of the car. What would the other wire be?

To keep a clean signal it is best to run the power wire on one side and the RCAs on the other. Just keep the power away from anything sending a signal to the amp and you will be fine.

power wire, thats the word, lol. I know nothing about all of this stuff. That's probably why I'm not putting my system in. I'm just trying to learn about some of this stuff.

power on one side (usu. driver) and speaker/RCA on the other side (usu. passenger). The ground wire should be as short as possible, and the same gauge as the power wire.

yep, try to run all your ground wires to the same point. I ran both of my amp grounds to a bolt in the trunk latch thingy. I think each one is about 2 - 2 1/2 feet.
