2000 Nissan Maxima Audio Advice

I have 2000 Nissan Maxima SE with a Pioneer HU with Bose amp+sub. Picked up a free 10" JL Audio Subwoofer in a box at a thrift sale the other day. I have a few questions.

1. Can I power an aftermarket subwoofer with the Bose amp? If so, how to proceed with the wiring?
2. If you guys recommend to change the whole system, what wattage and amp do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

1. No.
2. No need to change the whole system. You just have to add an aftermarket amp to power that JL 10". Post the model # of the JL so we can suggest an appropriate amp that mates to it.

It's a 12" JL Audio VRC 12W0-4. Please advise.

Ok, that sub is 125 watts continuous, 300 watts peak, at 4ohm.

Go on Crutchfield and find an amp that puts out somewhere in the 200watts range at 4ohm that's in your budget. You can post your selections here and we can let you know what's a decent amp.
