2002 Factory CD player

Hey, I'm having issues with my front speakers either going out or sounding pretty weird. I'm hearing that this is a problem with the factory Stereo on the GLE models. It only happens when I'm playing CDs. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what did you do to fix? Cost?

Do you have the Blose system with the in-dash six disk changer?

Yes I do. From what I am seeing the front speakers only go in and out and sound horrible when I am listening to a CD. When it's the normal radio it doesn't have this issue.

It's a very common problem with 2002-2003 Bose units (made by Clarion). Some people were reporting success with replacing flex cable connecting CD changer board to the main board - but I was not able to verify/trace this issue to the cable. Cable itself should not cost a lot, but you'll have to disassemble the unit completely. Honestly, it's not a best sounding piece of electronics, so in my case (same issue, but 7 years ago) I just replaced it with double-din navigation unit (Pioneer Avic-z1) with much better sound quality...

Thanks for that! I've considered just replacing the whole thing anyway. New stereo as well as cd player
