after trying several different RCA converters and not being happy with any of them, i found one from sounddomain.com that sound pretty darn good, it eliminates as much noise as possible by converting a signal right off of the headunit, instead of stepping it down from after the bose amps...
here is the problem, the signal for some reason isn't accepted by the equalizer i would like to put in... i know the eq works because it works on a normal pre-out, just not on a converted one..

anyone know why, or a way around it?

 

What type of EQ? Is the line out of the adapter 4 volts?

 

most EQ's will only accept a low level input(2-4v), not a high level coming off your Bose HU. Then if you accomplish that you will have to figure out how to supply the Bose amps after the signal leaves the EQ, cause again it will only be a low level output, not enough for the Bose amps to work properly.


I wouldnt bother with an EQ with a Bose HU. Its not worth all tha hassel cause it wont make a huge difference. Buy a new HU and start with that.

see, ive already gotten past that (amps), i have bypassed all bose amps, and have run all the bose speakers to a PPI, to do this, i ran the stock bose tweater, front 6.5, and a fultron tweeter in parrallel, then ran that set in series with the rear 6.5 all into one channel of the ppi, then mimicked that for the other side.... this sounds AWESOME, but i would really love to be able to control the sub, and some of the highs, that is why i want the eq....maybe if i could put some sort of resistance in line before the eq...?
