Headunit turns on but no sound!!

Ok I just bought a 95 Maxima. It has the bose speakers. I wiring up the radio with connectors and the radio turns on but I get no sound from any speakers. I even tried another headunit and still no sound. What am I doing wrong? The car has 3 connectors and I'm only using two. The power and speaker connectors. Whats the third one for? Please help I really need some tunes!!! Thanks Bill.B

Did you get the right harness to work with the bose amps?

I connected the power antenna. As for the connector I'm not sure they came with the car. Its just one of those walmart connectors. Is there a special one for the BOSE setups? As I said the connector only connects two outta three connectors. I figured the third was for a CD changer. Is that the AMP connector?

i dont think you have to bypass anything.. i would use a different harness one from bestbuy but thats just me. check your wiring make sure they are connected securely and colors match up, easy way to make sure is to look at the adapter harness and match up the pins where the wiring comes out, and match it to the stock harness that you hook it into they all have to align in the same pattern even if they are two different colors

The factory bose HU puts out a low voltage signal, and sends it to the factory bose amps. The aftermarket HU is sending out a high voltage signal, and still trying to go through the bose amp.
Probably why it isn't working. (just an educated guess, but I could be wrong)

Doesn't matter where/which harness you bought, unless physically defective it would work fine. If you have power on the radio, but no sound then it seems as if you forgot to connect the amplifier turn on lead (Blue/White).
