dont really understand what you are asking but typically a 12 will hit lower and require a bigger box. What kind of music do you listen to?

Sometimes different power levels / woofer sizes can cause phasing problems...and therefor muddy sound.

i dont know why in gods name you would want to get one 10 and one 12. used together they will hit different, and just wont sound rite combined. but thats depending how your planning on the set-up.. if you just want to get a 10 and a 12 , get an amp and hook them both up, its not gonna sound rite. what you can do ( and i highly doubt this was your plan) is do a woofer/sub-woofer combo. a better combo for that would be a 10 and a 15. in order to do that you'd have to have a good cross-over, and the 2 speakers would only play different frequencies, without overlapping. example: the 15 would only play really low sounding bass that the crossover would eliminate the 10 from trying to reproduce(put it this way, if you were to listen to rock or something like that, the 15 shouldnt even play for the most part). something like that can be done, you could even build one box for it, but the enclosers would have to be seperated so the air inside doesnt mix.. it can be done, but i dont think this is a world you want to explore... keep it simple

if your worried about pricing...... 10 inch subs and 12inch subs are usually the same price.....if anything they'll be 10-20 dollars different
