Need Advice On New Sub!
Ok, so the stock bose sub in my 2k Maxy is practically gone. I figure this is as good a time as any to replace that thing. Now, I only want to replace the sub. Here was I think is possible, but I'm not really sure.
1. Purchase the goods.
2. Install the amp to the battery as usual.
3. Tap off the wires in the trunk before the pre-amp (the black square one). I would use the rear speaker wires, correct? (If anyone could elaborate on which rear speaker to use/how to combine the signal of both, it would be much appreciated)
4. Use line out converters to plug into amp. Alternatively, the amp I want comes with high power input. Could I just use that?
5. Enjoy bass.
Sorry if that was confusing. I'd be happy to clarify anything in a little more detail.
If I'm missing something and this isn't possible, tell me! I'm new to this whole thing and would love advice.
For any of you that are curious, I plan on putting old school Two 12" Kicker Solo Baric s12d with a custom (0.88) boxes on each. The ratings for these things are 450w RMS each at 8 ohms (4 ohm parallel). I picked these because I listen to a very wide range of music, and I got a deal.
