Subs not hitting that hard.

Alright so i just recently installed subs and an amp to stock bose headunit in my 01 maxima. I will post links of everything i used to install it. The subs are acting like a regular speaker, im sure everythings working properly. i have a feeling it might be the rca cables.

http://www.vmaudio.com/?product=srd12sbs - Subs and amp

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...tra_22610435-p - LOC

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...?prodID=KCA-K8 - Amp install kit.

I connected the line out convert before the bose amp and did it to the rear speakers.

Any help would be much appreciated

Check the polarity of the subs to make sure they are connected correctly. If that checks out, try reversing the phase on your subs.

wouldnt the subs not work if the polarity was not correct? and ive tried messing with the settings, i just think they should be hitting alot harder for being 2 twelves.

Could it be because i still have the stock sub still plugged in?

Subs would still work, but the bass impact would be greatly diminished.

The link worked for me this time around. Try switching the positive & negative around on the amp's speaker outputs.

Have you adjusted the output on the LOC?
Double checked the polarity on the LOC?
When you say they are acting like regular speakers do you mean they have high frequency sounds coming from them?

I switched the polarity on the subs and it didnt seem to make a difference. but i followed the positive wire to the subs and made sure it was correct. i tried mess with the settings and it still doesnt seem to hit that hard. I think i know what i did wrong, i used the "Output rear speaker wires with the LOC.

probably not the HU.....
It is either the LOC or the sub wires are incorrect.

Woofer volume

Do you have speakers in the rear deck? If so you need to take down the insulating panel and also remove the speakers. I have an 04 and this was needed. The speakers were acting like an over driven passive radiator and really making the sound crappy. On my 03 it had rear speakers in the door but wasn't a Bose system. If you have speakers in the door you might try removing some of the insulation from the back seat to cargo space.....it will deaden the sound quite a bit. As a test listen with trunk open, if it hits hard, the issue is getting it into the interior space.

PS RCA cables are either good or bad. They won't lower the volume, but you might need a different harness adapter. I had to use a speaker level output to drive mine correctly. the bose line level was just too low.

Why did you put a LOC Before the Bose amp ? You basically just used a LOC which is supposed to take a 'high level' and bring it down to a 'low level' but you grabbed wires that were already low level. Wiring Before the Bose amp is low level And usable without a LOC.

Regarding phase (polarity) did you check Both speakers (possibly internally of the box) ? If one is out of phase from the other they will work, but have canceled each other out nullifying any sort of output.
