Aftermarket headunit reception prob question

I just bought a 02 Maxima Se and I've noticed this thing gets absolute crap for radio reception. I'm pretty sure I could put a coat hanger in my ear and get better radio reception.

I've done what I'm supposed to as a total newbie and searched and read on the older topics. I have a question as to how things are suppose to be hooked up behind the head unit.

The blue with white stripe and the blue wire are both hooked to the blue wire coming out of the head unit. I checked with the key on that connection is getting 12V and it is. Those are the only two wires that need to be hooked together correct?

Next question. On the connector that contains the left and right rear and the blue with white stripe wires, there is a black wire that says chassis ground. That wire is just hanging out not connected to anything. I'd assume ( I know what happens when you do that) that this wire is supposed to be hooked to something. Where does it go though?

Thanks in advance. This is a nice site yall have here.
