remote door locking

Maxima 2004. When I use the remote to unlock/lock the doors there is a 'pulse' sent to activate/deactivate the locks. What I want to find out are there separate wires for locking and unlocking or does it send say 1 pulse to lock and a double pulse to unlock using a single wire?
What I want to do is to make the cigarette lighter socket become live when door is unlocked and dead when locked by connecting direct to battery and using a latching relay to turn off/on. It needs a pulse in one wire to turn on and a separate pulse on the second wire to turn off.
THANKS for any help
