Antenna won't go up after installing new deck

I have a Maxima GXE with the single DIN tape headunit, which I replaced a while ago with a Nissan (Clarion) double DIN tape/CD deck. When I bought the deck from ebay I assumed that the deck, which is previously installed in a 2000 Frontier truck, would work seamlessly.

After I installed the deck, all features worked fine, except that the power antenna won't go up when I pressed the AM/FM button! One possible cause may be that the Frontier does not have a power antenna, which the deck does not have the relay(?) for that feature. Is there a way which I can make the antenna go up when the radio is turned on? Thanks in advance for any input.

the only thing that you need to do is make sure the BLUE or BLue/WHite wire (amp turn on/ant turn on) is hooked up to your nissan maxima's harness

only some aftermarket stereo's will have a dedicated POWER ANTENNA wire...most just share the one Remote/ant Turn on wire...i think pioneer comes with one blue wire...and the other blue and white.

wait wait wait...
so are u saying my pioneer can actually have the antennae stay down even when the radio is not on? basically it slides up if i am not even listening to the radio.. if it's a cd playing it's still up. I was told Pioneers are like that and i'd have to install a switch to get rid of that

My Pioneer CD player does that. Even if i'm playing a CD, the antenna stays up. I wish it didn't, but it does.

My Premier DEH-P900R deck did the same thing.. So I mounted an additional switch in the armrest, that I can switch and control the ant. Afterall I hardly ever listen to the radio, so it isn't too much trouble to flip a switch when i want the ant up..
