Im looking to get a set of 3 way components up front. The mid is probably gonna be 2.5- 3in depending on what speakers I choose.

Do any of you have a mid on the upper half of your door? I don't wanna build the door out I rather drop it in somewhere in the door . You guys have any idea where I can be able to drill out?

I really don't wanna put it on a pillar either but I might do that.

 

Plenty of people have done this, but my question to you is why? Unless you're building a SERIOUS setup, most people can get away with a solid set of 2-way components.

Take a look at Q-logic kickpanels. That will be your cleanest route and you don't have to permanently alter/damage anything.
