General Wiring Question......

Hey guys,

I am replacing my front speakers with some new Boston Acoustic Components. My question is about the wiring.... When you guys replaced your factory speakers, did you use the factory wires for the new speakers you put in, or did you run all new wires?? I was told that I might need to run new wires to the new tweets cause there may be a built in filter on the factory ones,,,,anybody have any idea on this?? I have a 2K1 Max with upgraded system, not BOSE though. Thanks for any input......DMAN

If you are running deck power only you will be fine with the factory wiring. If you plan on running an amp, upgrade the speaker wire.

Sorry, I haven't run speakers off of a headunits amp in over ten years. Actually, never. I have never owned a headunit with built in amp. So I always run new speaker wire. If you are running components you will need new wiring unless you trace the factory wiring into the car or wherever your crossovers are mounted, and connect the factory wire to your crossovers.
