Music box

Hi, new here, fist time questions. I have recently purchased a 2012 Maxima with sport package and having some difficulties with the music box. I deleted all previous owners music from the music box and started to record my music and at 231 songs maybe 15+ cd's the music box said it was full ?. How come ?, I expected to record many more. I have been recording mainly cd's that I had burned some years ago on 700 Mbs discs with some store bought cd's as well. After a cd has been recorded the system says "converting" in red printing on the screen. I am not sure converting to what ?. Thanks guys any info. Greatly appreciated. Steve.

I forget the format that it converts them to, but it compresses the music files. I would double check to make sure all the previous music was deleted as you should be able to fit much more music than that.

Thanks for the reply. How do you tell if the music box is empty?. When I deleted all previous owners music I followed the owner's manual which was pretty easy. I have also deleted my 231 songs and started over. With only a few cd's recorded it looks like the same thing again only a small number of songs will get recorded as I am watching the space bar and it is filling up fast. Thanks again.

I would look at mine, but I don't have the car any longer.

Just read through one of my saved PDF files....which Music Version do you have? There were actually two versions. The version that came with my Maxima had 9.3 GB of storage space. The other version is 2GB, but only "800 MB for music". I'm thinking that you have the version with 2GB. You get the bigger one with the Technology Package, which is what my car had.

Hi, thanks, you are correct. My system without the nav. has only 800 Mb. of storage. With the nav. you get 9.3 Gb. of storage. Lesson learned, read the manual thoroughly the first time. Thanks again for answering my question. Steve.
