2k2 speaker install

For anyone who has installed 6.5's in the front and rear doors on a 2k2- Did you have to use/make any type of a bracket or spacer, or will aftermarket 6.5's drop right into the stock locations ?????

yeah, the majority of Max's from 95-2000 have oversized 6.5" speakers front and rear. You can buy adapter rings at any local stereo shop for cheap, $20 a pair. I would just go to www.crutchfield.com they always have them instock and have the best price for them.

You'll need the brackets. There's 3 ways you can go about it: (P.S. I have 6.5's btw)

1) Use your existing speakers, check out the FAQ's/How-to's on how to modify it so you basically take the old speakers out yet keep the bracket/basket intact. You then attach your aftermarket's on it.

2) Purchase the same brackets (w/o the speakers) from your local Nissan dealer. They run approximately $32 for all four.

3) Buy the brackets on Crutchfield or your local car audio installation shop. They're not as flush as the first two but it does it's job well plus it's cheaper (i got mine for $11 for all four).
