SoundMike or anyone

Just replaced the front speakers on my 2k2 with Infinity 605cs components. I did not use the supplied crossovers as I figured there was already some type of cross over being used by Nissan (Clarion) somewhere in the lines. Now the tweets are way to bright and the bass way to weak. So.. Question, does anyone know if and where the stock crossovers are and how to get rid of or bypass them so I can use the Infinity cross overs short of rewiring the head unit which I really don't want to do... Anybody else had this problem ???? HELP!!

Nissan has no in line crossover what so ever. It is just a dual cone driver in the door thats it. Install the crossover that Infinity put in the box, that is why it's in there Your problem is solved Are you running a seperate amplifier to these speakers?

No amp, just stock head unit. Obviously I guess I'm not real well versed here, but how can they split the signal between the woofers in the front doors and tweeters in the A-Pillar with no cross over ????

You should always use the supplied passive crossovers because they are designed specifically for those speakers. Any other xovers won't work well with different speakers. They will probably sound bad and cause speaker damage (Some tweeters are designed to be high-passed at 3500Hz, while some xovers are set for a 2500Hz high-pass. This would fry mismatched tweeters. Also, the crossover is designed with certain slopes and xover points for those particular speakers, and altering that would affect sound quality).

The tweeters probably have a small capacitor installed on them that acts as a high pass crossover with a 6dB/octave value.
