NEED HELP!!! .... with Subwoofer Location

Hey Maximas!!!
Need some help with the sub location!
I've got Maxima 95.

Just got Image Dynamics IDMAX and Zapco 750AG and looking for
fast, punchy, short and strong bass (NOT BOOMY). For techno and trance music. I have a sealed 1.3 cubic foot square box and just need to know the best way to set the speaker, where should it face, iside of the car, up to the window???
Also, how should I set the crossover points??? Should I bypass 50-60Hz on my EQ???

Hope to hear from you, sound professionals!!

The xover point depends on how low you can run your mids up front. You need to run the fronts as low as possible, and then lowpass the sub around there. Aiming the sub at the back of the car provides the most bass, but it also creates a little delay between the sub and the front stage. Try it aimed different ways and see what sounds best to you. There is no right answer to that.

Thanx a lot. It really happens what you've just said! Bass kinda delays, does not play at the same time with the mid-basses, which have to be set up close to 75Hz, as far as I know. I'll try putting my MAX up in the rear deck, facing the back winow, what d u think???

I would not under any circumstance put the 1.3 cu ft box on the rear deck. Try in the trunk against the back seat, facing the rear. And if it sounds like the bass is off beat, reverse the phase, polarity. Most people are very happy with this set-up.

I would probably do what you've said, but.... are you sure you can reverse polarity on the sub??? I know I did it with the tweeters for the sound stage imaging, but know nothing about the sub...

Thanx
