My friend has a CD changer in the trunk. Can he put subs in there too, or is it gonna make the changer skip? How can he avoid this? Thanks.

It shouldn't be a problem...

I have my changer in the trunk, along with a dual 10" bandpass box. I can't recall any cd skipping because of high bass.Tell him to go ahead.. besides he could always move the changer.

Hope that helps

Should not be a serious problem, but to completely avoid this situation, he can mount his CD changer somewhere else in the car besides his trunk. Try under either of the front seats (some people don't like this setup), maybe even in the center console (if he's willing to do some mods).
If the CD changer is super-duper-anti-skip (whatever the hell these companies are calling it these days), it shouldn't matter.

I don't see why not...don't most cd-changers come

with a damper/dampening suspension?

I've seen lotsa people do that, just be sure the changer is mounted to something solid and not the box itself (rear parcel shelf is pretty flimsy in the center.. mine flexes about 1/2" when I crank it.. probably not a good idea to mount it there). that's part of the reason I mounted my changer under the front seat.

uhhh, yeah they come with dampers in them, but they're made to absorb road vibrations and small bumps, not the pounding of a pair of subs in the trunk..

basically, go ahead and try it, but if it skips, find a different spot to mount the changer.

I have a changer in the trunk with my 12" sub, I know it isn't as much as some people put out, but the only time it skips is when I brake really hard. It kinda gets annoying, but it is mounted in the center of the trunk.
