Bought some new badass component speakers and amp. Opinions?

Yesterday I ordered a pair of MB Quart QSD 213 5.25"/1" component speakers along with a pair of MB Quart QSD 164 6.5" dedicated midbass drivers.
Both of these sets of speakers can handle a lot of power so I got a Precision Power (PPI) PCX 4125 amp to power them. (4x125 watts rms@ 4ohms). I also ordered some Q-logic kick panels for better placement of the components. The midbass drivers will go in the doors. Everything is already covered in dynamat Xtreme, so I'm not too worried about rattles and such.
The component speakers and midbass speakers will be in place of my Infiniti Kappa Perfect 6.1 component speakers... so if anyone is interested in buying them, I'd let them go for around 150+ shipping. I think retail price is around 500-600 bucks.

I'm keeping my Kappa Perfect 10.1 10" subs w/ JBL 600.1 amp for around 70-75Hz on down. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep my rear speakers or not. I'll have to listen with and without them. I have a feeling that all they are going to do is mess up my imaging/soundstage, so I'll probably take them out along with the JBL 80.2 that I have to power them.

I'm excited... how do y'all think it's going to sound? Any opinions on the equipment I purchased?

BTW.. this is going in my '00 Silverado, not my Maxima.

The qsd's are great. But I think they deserve much more than a q logic kick! And if you like them why are you asking for opinions?

Because I like what I've read about them, I haven't actually installed them yet. Heck, I haven't even received them yet... they're still in transit. I'm waiting for them to get here as we speak.

What's wrong with Q-logic kick panels?? I wanted something that would give me good imaging and have the factory equipment look to it. What other options are there? I sure haven't heard of any others, unless you are talking about me getting some fiberglass panels made. If it's fiberglass you're referring to... I'd like to but I doubt it would look anything close to OEM.

As long as the Q-logic kick panels don't rattle... and they allow the component speakers to play like they should... I'll be happy.

But I'm curious... do you know of any other competitors to the Q-logic kick panels that are superior? Or were you just referring to custom fiberglass enclosures?

The qsd's are one of the best speakers out. To me better than focal, they take the smoothness of the focal's and add that kick the the reg q's have. Real nice.

Whats wrong with q logic? Really nothing, but to me for some 1000 buck plus componets do you really want somthing thats pre built? Ive never been a fan of any q logic kick, some work ok, some suck ***. Other option would be to do some custom kicks. Kicks do not have to be huge build outs that so many people do and see. They can be real small and have a better than factory look, which to me q logic is to huge. It really comes down to design. If your happy with um hey great, but to me you can get more out of the speakers if you'd play around a little with a custom design. But of course that does take time and maybe a little more dough that pre builts.

Yeah, the only person I would recommend Q-logic kick to is my uncle. And he's nearly deaf from childhood measles. The install is far more important to the SQ than the speakers.

OK... so can you please tell me what specifically it is about the Q-logic kick panels that makes them bad for component installations? Do they rattle? Do they have bad enclosure design? Do they not allow the speakers to work right in some odd way? Are they aimed poorly?

As far as I can tell they work nearly as good if not as good as fiberglass enclosures. Sur fiberglass looks nicer... but I don't want anything flashy. I want something that looks like it came from the factory that way. There is no way to make fiberglass look even close to stock from what I've seen. So as I was saying... are there any other OEM looking kick panels other than custom fabricated fiberglass that I should consider instead of Q-logic?

Thanks...

The kicks that are huge and not close to oem look are common. Though it does not have to be that way. Mine are pretty close and are gonna be closer now.

Depending on the set up q logic can do an ok job or a bad job. somtimes in fact more of the time the kicks are flimshy. Break easy, don't work well with most speakers, do to air space or lack of sealing the front from back in an resnably good manor. Rattle? Not really a rattle but bounce around and not lock tight ive seen. To me there just cheap and simple way of geting kicks. I'm also not sure why you think they retain the factory look. To me it's a massive build out in most cars.
To me for a few more bucks you can get a good custom kick for maybe 300 bucks that can look just like you want it to just tell them how you want it. And if you get sombody that knows what there doing it will image much much better. Q logic just kinda puts somthing down that works ok for cheap. Not great.

I say it looks factory because they are made out of plastic just like the rest of the interior, and they are pretty closely matched in color. I'll be happy with them as long as they don't rattle, and they provide significantly better imaging than if I was to put the speakers in factory location in the door.

All you need to do to make fiberglass look like factory vinyl is, you guessed it, cover it in factory color vinyl. The fact that they are flimsy, may not properly attach, and not provide good seal are all individually good enough reasons not to get.
