stock radio does not work correctly anymore

We've Been having problems with our radio
None of the buttons or dials work.
cannot control volume --- just gets louder and louder, etc.
My problem is I can not get to the radio to take it out for replacment.
Do I have to dismantle the whole dashboard?
Can anyone avise me how to take a radio out of the panel without breaking stuff?
I know the last resort is to take it to the shop and have someone that knows what he or she's doing.
Thanks any help wouuld be appreciated.
